“Wetlands” – generally refers to open-water surroundings like lakes, rivers, estuaries, marshes, lagoons, backwaters, mangroves, swamps, seasonally or permanently waterlogged areas of land. This term excludes the sea.
Victoria Memorial, Kolkata (Calcutta), India
It is one of the famous Historical Monument of Indian Architecture. It was built between 1906 and 1921 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s 25 years reign in India.
The building is 184 ft high upto the base of the figure of Victory, which is another 16 ft high. The Memorial is situated on a 64 acres of land with the building covering 338 ft by 228 ft.
The Victoria Memorial is possibly the most awesome reminder of the Raj to be found in India.
Gnathang Valley, East Sikkim
Gnathang Valley or Nathang Valley is popularly called the “Ladakh of the East India”. This Valley surrounded by mountains, is a high-altitude plateau within the Silk Route. If you do not like Gnathang Valley, you would not like paradise. It is located at an altitude of 13500 feet.
